To mark 25 years of honorary aviation chaplaincy, the Honourable Firm of Air Pilots, offered a global award to Howick’s Rev Dr Richard Waugh at a particular dinner at RNZAF Base Whenuapai on Saturday.
A Livery Firm of the Metropolis of London with King Charles III as patron, Waugh was awarded the Firm’s ‘The Sir Alan Cobham Memorial Award’.
Unable to be current on the livery dinner in London on October 26, the Grasp of Air Pilots, Captain Jonathan Legat was visiting from the UK and made a New Zealand presentation to Waugh final weekend.
The award was a tribute to Waugh ‘s chaplaincy ministry work to many individuals within the aviation business and initiating the Erebus Nationwide Memorial venture.
