with Turkmenistan to extend its fuel imports from the neighboring

Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan had signed a contract on

by Iran.
The contract envisaged the supply of as much as 1.5-2 billion cubic
meters of Turkmen fuel to Azerbaijan per yr, ranging from January
1, 2022.
On June 3, 2022, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Financial system Mikayil
Jabbarov and Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji signed a memorandum of
understanding in Baku to double the Turkmen fuel provide to
Azerbaijan by way of Iran.
