‘Girls don’t want it’: Sydney’s female private schools won’t turn co-ed

Former Labor minister Graham Richardson says Sydney’s personal women colleges won’t ever transition to co-educational.

Mr Richardson’s remarks come as a non-public boys faculty in Sydney, Newington Faculty, determined to transition to co-ed from 2026.

“It gained’t occur the reverse manner,” he informed Sky Information Australia.

“The ladies don’t need it truly, have you ever detected a motion within the women’ colleges to alter over to a co-ed system? I haven’t.

“I do know fairly a couple of women, mother and father from personal colleges who go to single-sex colleges and I haven’t heard them inform me they don’t prefer it they usually want a change.

“I haven’t heard it in any respect – not from one particular person.”
