Inexperienced MP Efeso Collins has died after collaborating in a charity occasion in central Auckland this morning, RNZ understands.
Collins was collaborating in a ChildFund charity run in central Auckland when he collapsed.
He was married and a father of two.
Collins was of Samoan descent, and raised in south Auckland’s Ōtara.
He spent three phrases in Auckland Council, serving because the chairperson of the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Native Board and as Manukau ward councillor. He was among the many main contenders for Auckland’s mayoralty in 2022.
He most not too long ago joined the Inexperienced Occasion as was elected into Parliament on the final election.
On the time, he mentioned he was “elated and humbled” to be elected.
