A movie producer was cheated of Rs 10.35 lakh allegedly by his home assist in Andheri in Mumbai, a police official stated on Thursday.
Ramesh Jagdish Sharma (65), producer of movies like “Baaghi”, “Ek Tha Raja”, “Aakrosh”, “Pyaasa”, “Sport”, which had been launched within the Nineteen Nineties, filed a grievance with DN Nagar police station on Tuesday, the official stated.
“As per Sharma’s grievance, his home assist Irfan Javed Sayyad, who has been working with him for 5 years, downloaded a UPI-based app and linked the previous’s checking account to it,” he stated.
“Between June 29 and October 11, the 20-year-old accused transferred Rs 10.35 lakh from Sharma’s account. Sharma realised it when his chequer bought dishonoured for lack of stability.
Sayyad has been charged with dishonest and different offences below IPC and Data Expertise Act,” the official stated.
